Synopsis

Kyrre Waag abandons his economics studies, waves goodbye to all prospects of a predictable future, and decides instead to pursue an unlikely dream: Building a global music career from his native Norway. When his band, Naked Koala, releases the song “Right with Me,” an unexpected audience emerges. An outpouring of heartfelt messages arrives from Papua New Guinea. The documentary Land of the Unexpected follows Kyrre’s journey into the unknown, and his dream of playing a stadium concert in the capitol of the island nation where he unexpectedly became a superstar. It is a wild and beautiful story about unexpected life paths, human connection, and, most of all, the universal language of music
