In the Cévennes, Jean-Louis Perrier, a transhumant shepherd since 1965, embodies the resistance of an ancestral trade on the brink of extinction. Alongside passionate young shepherds, he keeps centuries-old pastoral traditions alive: transhumance on foot, the careful tending of flocks. But this passion now faces multiple challenges: the return of the wolf, dwindling fodder, ever more restrictive regulations, and the economic fragility of the sheep farming sector.
